Hello friends. I started this site as i was feeling concern over changes and actions following the 2024 election, that negatively affect people in our country, and the stability of our Democracy.
I found myself (and others) saying, “but what can we do?” I asked myself, how could I use my skills and talents specifically to make change? As an Occupational Therapist and an Artist, I believe in the therapeutic power of ‘making’.
Crafting and making art is healing and empowering. We are ‘DO’ing something. This gives us power when we can feel so powerless. Do. Make. Create. Pour LOVE into the World.
Recently, I hosted a gathering at my house to make and write postcards for a friend who was running for Mayor in our hometown. I love the postcard writing events, sending personal notes. I received a postcard sent from a group in a different state. I felt connected to the person who wrote it + I saved it .
I wondered if crafting our own postcards and sending them would give another layer of that personal touch (to make it worth looking, worth saving, worth remembering). That is the goal - make connections and remember to Vote.
Maybe this could be repeated across the country leading up to the midterms! Our ultimate power is in sharing our message and getting out the VOTE.
